What You’ll Do
- Organize, plan, and execute laboratory experiments to support process development activities.
- Critically analyze process data and author technical reports and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in design and creation of development plans, contributing to process definition, process lock and optimization of process steps.
- Summarize and present data in group meetings and contribute to group discussions.
- Perform cell-based testing to understand cell attributes.
- Maintain an accurate and detailed laboratory notebook and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Participate in management of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
- Work independently as well as with other team members to perform and troubleshoot experiments or assay performance.
Skills and Experience We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biological engineering, chemistry, or biology related discipline with 0-5+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 0-3+ years relevant experience (level will depend on years of experience).
- Experience working in a process development laboratory environment.
- Good understanding of mammalian cell culture and proficient in aseptic technique.
- Experience with T or B-cell cultures and CRSPR is a plus.

Bioinformatics Research Intern
Overview: We are offering an exciting internship opportunity for an undergraduate student interested in gaining hands-on experience in bioinformatics research, with a focus on DNA methylation data analysis. This internship will provide valuable training and mentorship in computational biology and epigenetics, and the intern will contribute to ongoing research projects aimed at understanding the role of DNA methylation in various biological processes and diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Processing and Analysis:
- Assist in preprocessing and quality control of raw bisulfite sequencing data.
- Learn to use bioinformatics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for DNA methylation data analysis.
- Participate in running computational pipelines for alignment, methylation calling, and differential analysis of DNA methylation data.
- Statistical Analysis Support:
- Learn basic statistical methods used in analyzing DNA methylation data.
- Assist in conducting statistical tests to identify significant differential methylation events between experimental conditions.
- Contribute to the interpretation of statistical results and visualization of methylation data.
- Documentation and Literature Review:
- Maintain detailed records of analysis workflows, results, and observations.
- Conduct literature searches to support ongoing research projects and stay updated on relevant scientific publications in the field of epigenetics.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with members of the research team, including bioinformaticians, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
- Participate in team meetings, discussions, and knowledge sharing sessions.
- Communicate findings and progress effectively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student majoring in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in computational biology, genomics, and epigenetics research.
- Basic knowledge of programming concepts and familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Perl).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior coursework or research experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or genetics is preferred but not required.
Duration and Schedule:
- This internship is a full-time position (40 hours per week) and is expected to last for a duration of 8 weeks.
- Start and end dates are flexible to accommodate academic schedules and availability.
